The Perfect Lunch Spot

I think we found the perfect lunch spot on the perfect day.
Our trip to Arran meant 2 ferry rides.  One from Portavadie to Tarbert - then a short drive to Claonaig to catch the ferry to Lochranza (Arran).    At Portavadie we ran into a nice family from North Carolina who have spent a lot of time in Scotland.  The matriarch told us to drive past the ferry landing in Claonaig to Skipness for lunch.  This is what happens when you listen to strangers…

You eat wonderful seafood sitting on the water right next to a castle ruin and a field of sheep.
This is the Seafood Shack.  I guess in the land of castles this is categorized as a shack?

Since our Dogs of London post was so popular we will continue to snap pix of the local canines.  This one was particularly friendly.

Two very happy people.  Perfect weather, locally brewed beer, eagerly awaiting the seafood platter.

If only we didn't have to rush off after lunch.  As much as I would have loved to sit back and relax, we had a ferry to catch.  We could see it as we drove back to the landing which meant we were perfectly timed to catch it.

Next stop - Arran!
