Bathurst Mews Street Party

It's June 21st.  Happy Birthday brother Scott.
It's the longest day of the year.
And it's the day of the Bathurst Mews Street Party.  Jen and I came home early from our holiday in Scotland to attend.
We scurried around in the morning getting food and drinks.  We totally over bought, as we had no idea how it worked....

Once we saw this guy with his pig on a rotisserie we panicked.

The first part of the day was for the kids.  Then we started eating and drinking and the kids were relegated to background...

Jen found members of the Orchestra Quiz Team for us to hang with.  This is Jules.  I think she's the brains of the team.  Jen was working a deal so she can join the Orchestra (multiple times champs) while I'm in the States.  What a wheeler-dealer my wife is.
And would our team name then be Weak Orchestral Knights?

All the hipsters were at our party.  This guy lost his cool when he strapped his kid on the baby bjorn.

Roger and Jerry.  Roger is a Mews mainstay and Jerry is Jules partner from Orchestra.
Jerry bought some new shorts for the party which he suggestively showed off all night.  He was very proud that they only cost £10.

And Anne Maria joins the party.

Roger's wife Jean and Jerry play a spirited (I use the term spirited with double entendre..by this time they were fairly well bottled) game of table tennis.

It gets dark after 10:30 these days.  The party is still rolling along.

Anne Maria and I are practicing our scenes.

You can tell she's an actress.  Look at that far away stare!

Hula Hoops came out late.  Kids seem to have a natural Hula Hoop talent.  This Spanish guy was able to rock three hoops at once.  He was one of the few adults who could keep it going.

Anne Maria was cursing me for giving her my little pack of cigars.  She says she'll wake up in the morning talking like Louis Armstrong.

Anne Maria was able to straighten out Jerry's opinions about Ireland.  She couldn't let his factual inaccuracies lay without a response.
We woke up late this morning after going to bed around 2:00am.  I think today's goal is to eat some of the food we never even brought out to the party, go to the park and sit in the sun for a few hours.  Anything more ambitious than that will be a struggle.

This party looks like such fun! It looks like what we used to have in the 1970's-"a block party".
