The Vic was packed last night. When we first arrived we could barely make our way into the pub. It usually thins out a bit once they announce the quiz but last night tables were at a premium and there were 8 of us huddled around a postage stamp until a second table opened up.
We also had a big crowd with some special guests. Friends of one of Bill's ex-coworkers have moved to London. They are Edie and Curt and they moved in September to Notting Hill. They just started their 3-5 year assignment here. We'd never met them before Bill made arrangements for them to join us at the pub for the quiz so we didn't know what they looked like but they recognized us immediately from the blog.
You know, we're kinda like celebrities.
Our line up was:
Weak Sauce: Jen, Bill, Edie, Curt, and Jedi John
Orchestra: Jerry, Jules, their Air BandB guest Nancy, and Robert
We were in a pitiful place for the first few rounds. And it was so loud and chaotic that it was hard to hear the questions.
Quiz Master Chris did give us a bit of encouragement as he made his rounds.
We did get a few solid rounds in at the end and were respectably in the middle of the pack. Orchestra came in second only to Buffet!
Edie and Curt were great fun. And they even got a few right. I think Bill and I do better now than we used to simply because we are familiar with the format and the style of the quiz. I have no doubt that if they become regulars they will start winning their share of free rounds.

We didn't get any acting poses in tonight until the very last minute. This is our pitiful old Russian lady look. Ann Maria of course nailed it while I look like an old lady who just sucked on a lemon.

Since I have a babushka and a great babushka - I'm just going to have to say that neither of you would blend in very well in Russia. :)
