Golfstravagana began auspiciously. Dave's clubs were stuck in London on another plane. Promises to bring them to our hotel have not been kept. We're still waiting for them ….
But we could rent clubs for Davie. We got to Gullane ready to begin our dream golf weekend.
And then we got stuck ….
It looked like I could drive over this hump. We had a dozen Scots try to play a part in getting the car off it's perch. Even AA (Scotland doesn't need the extra A) couldn't pull us out. The van swerved and his tow snapped. It was only after the groundskeepers tractor joined in did we escape, two hours later.
Jen and the girls had a good laugh when I sent this picture.
But we eventually did get out on the course. The course hugged the water and was spectacularly beautiful. The pictures do not do it justice.
Davey planned our trip well. Only the best for us. After our golf day we ended up here, at Gleneagles.
Let's just say our hotel is better than Jennifer's.
Jet lagged and golf tired, Dave dreams happy dreams of our week of golf.

Well it wouldn't be a vacation without some funny stories to tell. Dave looks like a pro on the links. Bill looks like he has lived in Scotland forever. I am worried about the pillow Dave is spooning with, however.
The car situation is indeed hilarious but I have a question about the lovely hotel - is one supposed to stand in the claw foot tub while washing hands or brushing teeth at the sink? Or is that just the angle of the picture?
