We started Sunday with Ann Maria and ended it with Amanda. Here is the recap.
We went for Sunday Roast at a place that Marge found in a local paper. Marge is great about clipping out articles even while she is on vacation. One night when we met them for dinner she had a little baggie of clippings that she though might interest us.
Anyway, I booked it based on the pictures on the website. It looked super hip and trendy. When we got there, the venue had changed - instead we were in a pop up in a pub sitting at folding chairs and tables. Not the ambiance I was expecting.
Plus Bill kept complaining that his napkin was wet. (I assume the problem was that they were newly washed but not thoroughly dried. At least that's what I hope the problem was.)
When the food arrived we stopped worrying about the atmosphere and dug in. Sunday roast is definitely on the list of things we will miss about England.
This is Bill's plate - the "undecided" with pieces of chicken, pork and beef.
Once we ate an entire farmyard we needed to take a walk so we decided to check out Columbia flower market for end of day bargains.
My selection.
Bill took a cigar and Joey break to get the latest updates from son #2.
Ann Maria and I did a little vintage shop browsing but nothing was purchased. Not even plimsoles.
Time for tea.
We had a great day with Ann Maria. After we went home we heard from Bill's friend Amanda. She's in town and wanted to meet up. So we headed to the Kendal for dinner and told her come when she was ready. We were having a nice chinwag when the new neighbor, Yannis, showed up. Bill had told him about the sing-a-long on Sunday nights and he came to hear music. Instead, he got a pint and joined us outside where you could hear the music but also have some conversation. A very good way to end the weekend.
