Happy New Year 2015!!

We started the night going out to dinner while the street party got underway.  Sadly, we didn't think we could do 6 hours standing out on the street.  We wanted to end the year with a good meal rather than greasy fish and chips from a vendor.  So we ate at a nice French/Scottish restaurant near our flat, went home and changed, and arrived at the street party before 11:00pm.
Although our area doesn't look crowded - we could NOT move anywhere else.  We tried to head over to where I thought one of the stages was and we were caught up in a tidal wave of humanity.  We finally decided to turn back to where we would have a view of the fireworks and we could at least see the screens that were showing videos of the music and DJ etc.  That was fine - Everyone was in a good mood and there were plenty of colorful characters.

I still don't know why Bill hasn't adopted the kilt.

The guy in the kilt proposed to his girlfriend - she said yes!!
This bloke is cheering after I limboed until their light sabers or whatever they were holding…somehow I'm not even in the picture, though!!
We even met people that we hung out with for the fireworks - Callum and Kim.  Callum came over to ask if Bill had an extra cigar. Bill and Callum bonded instantly.  They were a very nice young couple from the Lakes District.  They drove up just a few hours before to see in the New Year.  It was nice to have people to chat with while we waited for the fireworks.

Unfortunately the one picture we took with Kim came out blurry.

The fireworks were amazing.  They ended and then gave us this one last little burst over the castle.
Happy New Year, dear Readers!!  Thank you for following our adventures in 2014.
