As mentioned in an earlier post, our fabulous weekend in the country was postponed due to snowy weather. I admit that it was a pretty big storm and we heard the worst impacted was our destination. No doubt the driving would have been miserable. To make up for that, we decided to stay in London overnight heading into the city on a late afternoon train.
Our agenda for the evening - dinner and a movie.
This is the "Food for Fletch" segment. Tapas before the Django Unchained 9:30pm showing. After you select your tapas you put the sticks in a glass jar at your seat and pay by the stick.
After midnight, snowy night in Trafalgar Square.
I love this picture. Definitively London.
Who said the Brits are rubbish at snowmen?
We had a wonderfully romantic walk along the Thames after the show. As we were walking across the Waterloo bridge we were in awe of the view - a glowing Big Ben on one side, St Pauls on the other. Then a guy stopped us to say "Look at the view!!" and we admired it together. This is what happens when you are in London at 12:30 am.
Jennie loves the history. She stops to read most of the monuments. (Note from Jennie: Because they are interesting and you learn stuff. The sphinx in the background had damage from a bomb dropped in the street in WWI by the Germans....I never even think about London being bombed before the 40's.)

what did you think of the movie? was it too violent? worth seeing? i'm very impressed you could see a 9:30 movie by the way!
so sad about the lack of carrots for the snowman's nose
Django was cartoon violent. Laugh at it and you'll be fine. We love it - Bill
Aaron, for some more examples of British snowmen check this out: http://spitalfieldslife.com/2013/01/21/east-end-snowmen/
Diane, I really like Django Unchained. Christoph Waltz is brilliant. If you like Tarantino movies in general you will like this one.
