One Christmas tradition that Bill and I missed when we were in London was the annual Christmas show by our favorite drag troupe, the Gold Dust Orphans.
The show is in the basement of a gay club called The Ramrod.
This year we teamed up with one of Bill's coworkers, Rita, and her husband Wayne.
This year's show was Little Orphan Tranny - about a poor little hermaphrodite who finds love and adventure once she breaks away from Mrs Grinchly's orphanage. Donald Trump, Whitey Bulger, and Whitney Houston and a stripper cop were all part of the convoluted storyline. It was zany, hilarious, and we even saw some nudity which is always fun for the whole family.
After the show we went to a French restaurant around the corner in Kenmore Square.
You know it's a good place when they start you off with an amuse bouche. This was crab something (on spoon) and a shot of beet soup.
Bill's bouche was amused!
We polished off several courses and a nice bottle of red. We even parked for free which is the icing on the cake, isn't it? Remember when we went out every night in London? Now if we go to Boston twice in one week we feel super active and cosmopolitan. But have no fear, our conversation was as silly and inappropriate as ever.
