On the way to William Morris Gallery...

Remember a few weekends ago we went to the William Morris Gallery?  Well, we took a bunch of pictures along the way.  (aka slow blog day.  Work is very busy so life is dull)

We enjoyed the Gallery but getting there was half the fun.
We liked these cool subway tiles at the Walthamstow station.
(The whole time I kept saying "I'm tryin' to drive you to the Walthamstow!!!"  Get it?  Bill said that got a little old by the end of the day.  I laughed every time.)
Our original destination lunch restaurant  (where they invented bacon jam) was closed because of somebody's wedding (why wasn't that on the website?) so we went into a nearby gastropub.  Check out these great book lamps!

We picked up a local magazine and it mentioned that there was a front garden in town that set up elaborate yarn figure displays.  For example, Michael Jackson and crew were made in yarn and set up as the  Thriller Video.  And it was on the way to the museum - let's go!!
Damn - no yarn today.  Just a yard full of gnomes.

The magazine also talked about the little free libraries that are sprinkled all over town.  I was thrilled when we happened to walk by one.  I LOVE this idea and I love the foxy art work to boot!

Speaking of artsy…We took a few shots in an attempt to see with an artist's eye.  I love this telephone wire shot of Bill's.

Walthamstow was a bit of a mixed bag but they do have a Saturday market that is supposedly the longest (as in actual distance,  I believe) market in Europe.  So perhaps we will comeback to check that out.  Maybe I'll even bring a few books to feed the fox box.
