Brighton Weekend Part 2

Our first stop Saturday morning was a little storefront called the Brighton Flea Market.  It turned out to be much bigger than it looked from the outside - like Hermione's tent in Harry Potter  - and it was full of interesting things (mixed in with the junk).
There was a surprising amount of taxidermy.  Could you imagine me showing up at the office wearing this headband?  So tempting!!!
Back on the street...

This area is called The Lanes - lots of little narrow, winding alleyways with shops and restaurants.
Brighton seems to have a large gay community so there are a ton of great men's shops for Bill to get his dandy fix.  For the women there are mostly chain stores or very beachy bohemian type shops (where all the smaller sizes are snatched up right away because the clothes are so big and drapey).
This is a hat!

Lunch on a tiny balcony.  We ate in a little  sandwich place with no bathroom (you go into the show next door) and no beer but they tell you run down to the Sainsbury's and bring it in.  But this give you a good view of The Lanes.

We weren't bothered by any pigeons but we enjoyed watching this beggar at the window across the way.  This looks like a technique he has used before.  The seagulls seem louder here than I've ever heard before…and they barely sleep.  They screech into the wee hours of the morning and then start up again with first light.  Seagulls are now on the shit list with Swans in our book.

And that was Brighton Day 2 Part 1.  Tune in tomorrow for our afternoon adventures.  Internet here is dying...

Oh, if only I had had one of those headbands when I worked at the bank in Boston!
