Bill's ex-colleague Amanda was in town this weekend. You met her in a post last April - while I was in the States they were having tapas. For lack of imagination we suggested a night at the Victoria.
She is living in Spain right now but was in town for her citizenship ceremony. Yes, I'm insanely jealous. Mom - can't we find some long lost relative from Britain to vouch for me?
We had a very fun night chatting about her life after Bill's company, her Italian boyfriend who is a gelato maker (and travels the globe teaching chefs to make gelato), life in England and life in Spain. She is originally from Canada so we made sure to say "a-boot" and "pro-cess". We ate, drank, watched a little football, and patted the dogs in the pub….what's better than that?

You used to have third (?) cousins in Weston-Super-Mare -- the Johnstons, who originally gave us the boxed fish knife set -- but I expect they are long gone to the great pub in the sky.
