We celebrated Diane's birthday with a trip to Harvard Square to see Andre Dubus and Richard Russo "in conversation". Frankly, we would have been happy with more Andre and less Richard in that conversation. I saw two other "local celebrities" at the event - our favorite librarian and Alan Bull.
Of course, this makes us sound so sophisticated and intellectual but at dinner our main topic of conversation was celebrity train wrecks (Charlie! Lindsey!) and reality TV. We knew we were the trash talkers of the restaurant when TWO couples who were seated next to us asked to move their table and the girl on the other side had to stop Diane from giving away the finale of The Bachelor because she hadn't watched it yet.
Meanwhile Bill had a "harrowing experience" today. For those of you who received the email, please send the cash to our home address and not to where Bill is supposedly stranded in London. Thanks!
