We never get tired of our days in London. We love all of it. Here we are loving the train ride.
We had a few vague destinations planned and wound up stumbling on to some cool little markets in an area we've never been to before. We got off the tube at Angel and just strolled. Antiques, jewelry, scarves, etc. So much to look at! I admit, I got a little mesmerized and first but that first purchase snapped me out of it.
Lunch at the Elk in the Woods. Not my best look but at least you can see a bit of the decor and the Elk on the wall (in mirror). The place was very busy and would have been busier if they let us take over from the maitre d. He was turning people away left and right with reserved tables sitting empty for an hour - Bill and I spent the all of lunch running the place from our table.
I heard about a bookshop that is in a Long Boat and really wanted to check it out. There were several long boats all lined up with little shops and cafes in them. You order at their window and sit at a table on the nearby sidewalk.
Behind me to the right is the bookstore with a guy playing saxophone from the roof. He would play a CD and accompany on his horn.
Not in the picture is the little fireplace and bookshop cat. Of course we had to buy something!
More strolling, more shopping and then home again for left over Chinese.
