Monday is Guy Fawkes Night (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Fawkes_Night) but the fireworks are going on every night this weekend in various locations. At 6:45 I noticed that there was show that we could watch from the convenience of our bedroom window. Exclamations of "Get the camera!" were heard up and down Brocas Terrace. (we're always thinking of YOU, dear blog followers)

We drowned and smothered our disappointment with sausage in yorkshire pudding and a couple of pints at the pub - still decorated for Halloween. Halloween seems like one of those holidays that needs to disappear immediately. On October 31 cobwebs and blood stains are spooky. On November 1 they are just bad housekeeping.
