Jen and Brian came up to Newburyport for the Lantern Festival on Sunday. This was the first time that Bill met my old junior high pal and her husband. It was a hot day so we dragged them up to the roof. I'm sure they found it very charming to crawl out the window to the deck. It was especially charming when I kicked Brian's wine glass across the roof by accident.
After all the rooftop fun we headed to the Mall for the Lantern Festival.

While the boys smoked, Jen and I went to light and sail our lanterns. This was a fundraiser for ovarian cancer but you could dedicate your lantern to anyone. We waited in line for a woman to light ours and then found a spot to launch them into the Frog Pond on the Mall.

After our lantern excitement we hit the town and had dinner at Ceia. No pictures were taken but fun was had. I managed not to kick any cutlery and we all got home unscathed.
