We went to a Kentucky Derby party today and got there just in time to place our bets. I decided (since I never win things like this) to go with the long shots that no one had bet on. I don't even know the names anymore. You know how the announcers call out the horses throughout the race? Mine were never mentioned. For all I know, they were shot before the race even started.
Meanwhile, Bill bet on a tip from Dave and was in the lead through most of the race...until I'll Have Another came up from behind to kick dirt in Bodemeister's face. Disappointment all around. At least I had a great hat.
